STOP MOTION SHORT Reflection
I was scared to start this short stop motion because the process and app were new to me. Thankfully Laurie warned us that it was time consuming, so I paced myself in making the drawings and cut-outs, as well as photographing the frames per scene. I did throw out the original backdrop and redrew the first two figures several times to get the quality and proportions right. When I saw it come together in the Stop Motion app, I was excited and motivated. I was then unafraid to remake and reshoot scenes and add others to make the visual story more complete to me, and get to 449 frames! This was a personal story for me again, so it was easy for me to visual and make creative decisions. I also enjoyed using my collection of fibers: Japanese papers, silk and shell buttons, wool roving and French embroidery threads, but also cardboard and fallen Eucalyptus tree branches. |
